The Nantucket Beadboard Company manufactures Sheet Products and Strip Products. Sheet products are 48 inches wide and align side-by-side, the strip products are 10 inch wide shiplap strips with overlapping ends. Both sheet and strip products are available with the “Standard Bead” or a “V-Bead” profile. The ”V-Groove” profile is available only in the Sheet Product line.


Nantucket®Beadboard is manufactured from three different materials.
MDF is an interior product, MRI is an moisture resistant interior product and MRX is a moisture resistant exterior product. All products are available primed.
 

Sheet products are manufactured to a standard 4' width in lengths of 8', 10', 12' and 16', making them the perfect choice on new construction. Nantucket®BeadBoard sheets are an ideal alternative to traditional wall material such as plaster, drywall or paneling. Nantucket®BeadBoard Sheet Products cover large surface areas including interior and exterior walls and ceilings. Strip products are manufactured in lengths of 3', 4, 5', 8', 10', 12', and 16' and a width of approximately 10" with a thickness of 1/2". Nantucket®BeadBoard Strip Products may be used anywhere, such as walls, ceilings, bathrooms, stairways in interior and exterior locations.

Nantucket®BeadBoard Products have 3 distinctive bead profiles, the “Standard Bead”, the
“V-Bead” and the “V-Groove”. The “V-Bead” and the “V-Groove” are the same bead profiles found on historic wainscot and plank paneling. The “Standard bead” is a custom bead profile that is larger and more pronounced than the v-profiles”.

Each bead profile has its own advantages. The “V-Bead” and the “V-Groove” profiles are authentic scale reproduction of traditional wainscot and plank ceilings. This allows the homeowner to add to existing architectural details while maintaining a consistent visual effect. The “Standard Bead” profile is slightly larger and produces a sharper visual accent even after repeated coats of paint.

Nantucket®BeadBoard interior products (MDF) are manufactured from premium grade MDF medium density fiberboard. MDF is a very stable material and is ideally suited for a wide range of interior locations. Wainscotting, ceilings, entire walls, closets, pantries and attics are just a few of the possible applications. MDF has an excellent surface for painting, allowing for unlimited color combinations in either latex (water based) or oil based paints. MDF is easily cut using traditional hand or power saws and can be installed using construction adhesive and finishing nails.

Nantucket®BeadBoard interior moisture resistant products (MRI) are manufactured from premium grade moisture resistant fiberboard. This moisture resistant fiberboard is well suited for low to medium humidity areas such as bathrooms and basements. MRI products can be painted using latex (water based) or oil based paints. MRI products are cut using a jigsaw or circular saw and can be installed using construction adhesive and finishing nails. When using moisture resistant products, pre-drilling holes for finish nailing may be necessary.

Nantucket®BeadBoard exterior water resistant products (MRX) are manufactured from Extira® a treated exterior wood composite material. MRX products are recommended for medium to high humidity locations. Exterior porch ceilings and soffits are humid locations where MRX products excel. MRX products can be finished in either latex (water based) or oil based paints. MRX products are cut using a jigsaw or circular saw and can be installed using construction adhesive and finishing nails. When using moisture resistant products, pre-drilling holes for finish nailing may be necessary.
